Monthly Maintenance Contract: Independent of your ISP (Internet Service Provider)

Reasons for Monthly Updates:

  1. Your ISP "Hosts" your website. That means it is on his hard drive, and his responsibility ends once he gives you access to that space. Your contract with him simply pays for that space and his maintenance of the machine it is on. His only responsibility is that the server is functional so visitors can log onto your site. Your site and its content are your responsibility.
  2. The Internet is in constant flux. Addresses change and links need updating frequently. Nothing frustrates a visitor to your site more than having a link to an interesting site not function! Each and every link needs to be checked out once a month for changes.
  3. Search Engines look at the date your site was last updated as part of their scoring of your site. If you haven’t posted anything on your site in months it will rank lower in their reports. The META tags on each page of your site states the date the site was last updated. This needs to be updated – along with your copyright data.
  4. If you want to know who visits your site or if you are attracting the demographic you are aiming for, traffic monitoring is invaluable. You can purchase your own software or carry someone else’s and receive monitoring in return.
  5. What kind of impression do you give a visitor who asks for more information if you don’t get that information to them quickly? Your reputation is also judged by your attention to details like the monitoring of your "Requests for more information " Input. The Request Input Page needs to be checked every day and any questions or requests answered within 24 hours if possible.
  6. New information should be added frequently. If you have to wait for your ISP to find time to add to your site, you may wait weeks. They are frequently too busy designing new sites to make small changes to your existing site. A Monthly Maintenance Contract assures you of prompt attention to your changes.
  7. Have you ever tried to reach your ISP for answers to questions about your site or use of the Internet and had to wait for them to call back. Or feel like you needed someone who spoke English, not computerese? A contract with someone you understand and trust can help you over the steep learning curve in this new technology. When you want to take over the maintenance of your site we can train you to do it quickly and correctly.
  8. The average charge for computer updating of your site is $50.00 per hour. A Contract assures you of a lower rate, fast response time, and lower charges because we are already familiar with your site. If you have a contract with us we will provide 1 hour of work per month above the time for the routine maintenance for the monthly fee. Additional hours will be charged at $40.00 per hour.
  9. Search Engines are constantly checking sites in their listings to see if they have been resubmitted in a regular fashion. If a site is only submitted once, and never submitted again, they are often dropped by some Search Engines and vastly reduced in the rankings by others…even if your site is still active. This is why periodic re-submittals are a necessary part of owning a website. Submissions to Search Engines are a tedious, exacting and time consuming process.
